About Kenshay

Meet Kenshay Kerr, an alumnus of Penn State Harrisburg and Co-Founder of the Pro-Sales Club. Kenshay graduated from PSH with a degree in marketing and with a minor in Human Resources. He chose Penn State because he wanted to branch out of his home state of New York and go to a school that would open doors to allow him to get opportunities and gain connections. He intended to do the 2+2 program but after his 2nd year he decided that Penn State Harrisburg had everything that he wanted in order to finish his studies in 2017.

Kenshay is now a recruiter for Regional Finance Co. At his job he handles the recruiting of candidates for multiple states such as Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina. His first job he obtained out of Penn State was obtained through networking with people that he met at a prior sales competition with the sales club that was held in New Jersey. This caused Kenshay to have a stress-free senior year as he was already able to secure a job offer for him after college. Not only did he start his career by networking with company representatives at sales events, but the events helped grew his skills and knowledge of talent acquisitions. Kenshay exclaimed that through his learned skills of ownership and leadership it allowed him to speak to these representatives and ultimately find himself a position right out of college.

Advice

Kenshay explained that one of the most important pieces of advice he could give is that it isn’t technically about what you know but instead its about who you know. Networking is one of the most important skills to have when marketing/selling yourself to a company for a certain position. Aside from networking and applying his skills gained from being in the club, going to the sales competitions through the sales club helped get him exposure to companies that allowed him to get a job before he graduated. Kenshay Kerr is just one of the many alumni to use their experiences with the Pro Sales club at PSH to launch his career.
