About Yousef

Meet Yousef Hamed, former Penn State ProSales Club President. Yousef attended Penn State Harrisburg from 2020 to 2023, earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Management after transferring from HACC. Shortly after joining Penn State, a friend introduced him to the ProSales Club, where he quickly became an active member. His dedication and enthusiasm led to him being voted Club President after just one semester. Through the club, he gained hands-on experience by attending sales competitions and networking events, where he discovered his passion for relationship-building, storytelling, and sales.

Today, Yousef serves as a General Manager at Fastenal in the Harrisburg area, overseeing inside and outside sales, recruiting, and operations. His journey to this role started within the ProSales Club, where he connected with Fastenal employees at an event. This networking opportunity led to an internship as a Sales Associate, and through hard work and dedication, he worked his way up to a leadership position.

Advice

His biggest piece of advice is to put your ego aside and understand that success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s okay to start from the bottom and work your way up. He also emphasizes the importance of always being a sponge. This includes being open to learning, growing, and working hard. The best sales professionals never stop improving. Yousef credits the ProSales Club for providing opportunities that helped shape his career. He encourages students to step out of their comfort zones, embrace new experiences, and build meaningful connections that can open doors to life-changing opportunities.
